Wonder Imports, Your Trusted Candles Supplier

Candles were one of the earliest inventions in the ancient world. Candlesticks from Egypt and Greece were dated back to 3000bC, and candle makers were named in Paris in 1292. Candles were made as a light source but are now used for decorative purposes, scenting a room, celebration, and setting a soft romantic mood for a candlelit dinner. Let Wonder Imports, as your candles supplier, assist you with a beautiful variety to choose from.

Modern candles are produced in various shapes, colours and sizes to suit every candle need. Bayberry and beeswax are often used as additives, and some candles are scented with beautiful fragrances.

As a candles wholesaler, Wonder Imports can sufficiently supply wholesale candles across Australia.

How Much Do You Know About Candles and Their Care?

When you light a candle, the heat from the flame melts the wax in and near the wick. The wick then absorbs the melted wax and draws it upwards by capillary action. The flame is thus the combustion of the wax vapour. The flame's heat then vaporises the wax, and it is this wax vapour that burns.

To preserve your candle in its original condition, you need to store them in a cool, dry area. Ideally this would be at room temperature or lower as higher temperatures will soften your candles and cause them to melt or bend.

Here are some candle care tips from your candles wholesaler to help you preserve them and make them last longer:

  • If you want your candle to burn for longer or slower, you should put your candles in the freezer for a couple of hours before achieving this. The freezing makes the wax harder so that it will burn much slower than usual.
  • You need to trim the wick of your candle every time before use. If your wick is too long, it will result in a bigger flame, which means a much quicker burn.
  • You shouldn't just burn your candles for a few minutes at a time. Burn your candle at least long enough that the top layer of wax is melted evenly. If you do not do this, only the centre part of the candle around the wick melts and not the outer edge, which then causes tunnelling. The tunnelling will then get so bad that you basically have a lot of wax on the outer edge of the candle, but the wick and the wax in the middle are almost gone, wasting wax.
